Social Media isn't new! (Besides; we were trying to find anti-social media... and aside from some depressed, self-harming blogs, it seems that all media is actually Social). Let us substantiate that claim in terms of how we at Curve Corp operate: Take Facebook for example; which has a standard API (application programming interface). Like many other cloud-based software solutions Facebook utilises technologies such as Javascript and PHP to access key functionality such as single sign-on and integrating account registration too... <apologies for techy talk>. In lay-people's' terms that means that despite the appearance of Social Media being a perceivably new route, this claim only appears to be applicable to the front end and positioning of the nature of this type of community-led media. The majority of the back-end programming is the "old familiar". Curve has been producing these innovative Net solutions for years now and are fluent in the majority of programming languages used within the Social Media context. A recent Curve commissioned project, for example; being a Facebook Application for a sponsored Marathon - which allowed members to post their results and attained a huge user group through supportive viral, campaign links and the inevitable fast-moving word-of-mouth recommendation. iPhone, Android and other applications are all part of the course of where digital is at these days - and to us it's all pretty much second nature and nuffink new. Good innit? Now let's Tweet. |
